1. It is a civil contempt if a person does not follow orders but it a person humiliates the court and the judges then it becomes a criminal contempt and for which he may face jail/fine or both. There is not provision for imprisonment in civil contempt which is quite notorious and infamous in India.
   जब कोई व्यक्ति आदेश निर्देश का पालन न करे या उल्लंघ न करे तो यह सिविल अवमानना है पर्ंतु यदि कोई व्यक्ति न्यायालय को बदनाम करे जजों को बदनाम तथा विवादित बताने का प्रयास करे तो यह आपराधिक अवमानना होगी जिसके लिये कारावास/जुर्माना दोनो देना पडेगा वही सिविल अवमानना मे कारावास संबव नही है यह शक्ति भारत मे काफी कुख्यात तथा विवादस्पद है

When any person does not obey the directions and instructions of the court or neglects them, it is called civil contempt, but if the person defames the court, defamation of judges or tries to argue with them, it is called criminal contempt, for which imprisonment and penalty, both have to be awarded. For civil contempt, imprisonment is not possible. This power in India is very infamous and debatable.
